Powers of Attorney for Health Care and your soon to be 18 year old

Parents of children turning 18 need the proper legal documentation to access medical records and communicate with medical professionals about their children's health. If your child is injured or sick at college then you may not have the legal right to make health care decisions for them, even if they are unable to make those decisions on their own. Legal documents such as a Power of Attorney for Health Care allow you to be involved in your child's health care after they turn 18.
Michael Hertz at Lucco, Brown, Threlkeld & Dawson can assist you with the documents that you need, such as powers of attorney for health care, property and wills.
The linked Wall Street Journal article (may be behind a paywall) highlights the issue that parents and their children face when they turn 18.
